PEACE LINE

Connection instead of a final stroke - that is PEACE LINE. 75 years have passed since the end of the Second World War. For young people that often means: It's been so long. Why always remember and commemorate?

PEACE LINE brings European history into the present. Young people from all over Europe travel together to places that played a special role in the 20th century. Verdun, Auschwitz, St. Petersburg, Prague - it's always about experiencing history at first hand and getting into conversation with their peers on site.

• What does the First World War mean for France?
• How does Russian or Polish politics of history argue today?
• How does the Czech Republic deal with communism?
• Is that what we need: real heroes?

On three PEACE LINES you can experience Europe by train, bus or bicycle.

• From St. Petersburg to the Baltic States and the border between Germany and Poland (11 to 24 September)
• From Berlin through Germany to France - with a detour via Prague (11 to 24 September)
• By bicycle from Auschwitz to Westerbork in the Netherlands (23.4.-4.5.2020) (This tour has to be cancelled due to the Corona pandemic.)

PEACE LINE is a project of the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge e.V., which is carried out in cooperation with the European Academy Berlin and with the kind support of the German Foreign Office.
