The project addressed the challenges of climate impact adaptation in Georgia and Germany.
Promoting environemntal activism through informational campaign
Our participants Sopho Bregvadze and Tinatin Maghedani created a social media campaign which target audience first of all is the Population of Rustavi, which is Georgia's largest industrial site. Its goal is raising public awareness about the ecological footprint of the industrial facilities as well as promoting citizens to engage in policy-making to ensure accountable government and a sustainable future.
To achieve this, an infographic was prepared and published about emissions share for a specific industry sector, informational material about the content of the "Action Plan for improving air quality in the Central Zone" was published, comments regarding the document were prepared and submitted and citizens were promoted to attend the public deliberation of the document.

Eco_Side
The social media campaign Eco_Side by Anastasiia Borysova aims raise awareness on climate change, focusing on the phenomenon of ecocide and the impact of the war in Ukraine on climate change and the planet. Its goal is to draw attention to the idea of stopping ecocide, to impose an embargo on Russian fossil fuels, to promote recognition of ecocide as an international crime and legal responsibility for ecocide and to highlight the idea of climate justice now.

MoorNOW!
The project MoorNOW! (portmanteau of "Moor", homophone of "more" and German for "wetland", and "now" as in "urgent") by Max Jannes Theil is an advocacy campaign focussing on wetlands, especially their climate change role. The campaign aims to educate users on multiple platforms about the unique habitats that are wetlands, their biodiversity and role as natural carbon sinks. Additionally, the campaign wants to inform about the various threats to wetlands, creating an urgency to advocate for their legal protection, restoration and conservation. The campaign chiefly draws from the "Mooratlas 2023", a up to date report and research compilation that offers numerous illustrative similes useful for a social media campaign.

Raising the awareness about carbon neutrality
The goal of the campaign of our participants Meri Tinikashvili & Ana Ungiadze is to educate and empower individuals, to embrace carbon neutrality as a crucial step towards mitigating climate change and raising their awareness on the importance of a given matter. In today's world carbon neutrality represents a critical strategy in the fight against climate change. Therefore, understanding its profound implications on our environment, society, and economy is a critical issue.
Implemented activities included are translating environmental terms defining decarbonization and crosscutting topics, and afterwards, distributing via social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.). Translating environmental articles into Georgian, explaining the meaning of decarbonization, the examples of six Finnish cities that have received recognition from the European Commission as pioneers in climate-neutrality efforts and publishing it to sustainability.ge and its social media platforms.

The F2 Project
The goal of Anuka Khutsishvili's campaign is to raise an awareness on climate change, focusing on a phenomenon of Forest Fires - what it is, the role and importance of forests /trees and its interdependent relationship with Climate Change. Also, to offer some existent adaptation options /methods regarding the issue.
For more context - fire is, in many cases, an essential ecosystem component that ensures the sustainability of its processes and communities. Since its emergence, fire has played a key role as an environmental filter, selecting for species and their traits, and shaping ecosystems’ communities. However, not all fires are the same and ecosystems exposed to fire regimes out of their historical range of variability might become vulnerable and suffer irreversible changes. The leading cause of global warming remains the burning of fossil fuels. that warming lengthens the fire season, drying and heating the forests. Climate change effects have been experienced in many countries of the world in form of widespread flooding, drought, disruption of weather patterns, increased global temperature, windstorms, and forest fire devastations.The page emphasizes on the phenomenon of forest fires, the role & and importance of trees and how it all is connected to the climate change.

Adapt4Climate
Georgia is highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, facing threats such as increased frequency and severity of droughts, flooding, heat waves, landslides, avalanches, heavy winds, and storms. The most vulnerable sectors are agriculture, forestry, tourism, health, and cultural heritage. Despite these high risks, Georgia lacks a national adaptation plan and municipal climate adaptation plans. The main goal of Nino Janashia's campaign is to raise awareness about the necessity and urgency of climate adaptation in Georgia by raising awareness. The project seeks to inspire action and advocacy for the development and implementation of inclusive local climate adaptation strategies that can safeguard Georgia's vulnerable communities and critical economic sectors from the multifaceted impacts of climate change. Target Group: environmental and climate civil society organizations, movements as well as activists operating within the context of Georgia.
Energy Crisis and Crime in Georgia
Nino Bregadze's analytical article delves into the critical issues surrounding the energy crisis in Georgia. It specifically highlights the discrepancies in key climate and environmental data, such as household firewood consumption and illegal forest logging. Our target audience includes policymakers, environmentalists, and the general public. The main objective is to raise awareness of the environmental challenges while urging action for sustainable energy and conservation practices.
The article is to be published by IDFI soon. Nino has received the second place in IDFI's analytical article competition it.
beesofberlin
Jonas Pfaffernoschke's project beesofberlin is an Instagram-page dealing with the growing importance of biodiversity and urban gardening in cities. The Instagram-page is highlighting the problem of declining bee colonies and promoting the importance of pollinators for food security and in cities, especially Berlin. The objective for the page is to reach teenagers and young adults and give them a better understanding about the importance of bees and other pollinators for our nature and food security. Also, it gives easy advice about bee-friendly plants for your balcony to start your own urban gardening project.

CObst2 - Transparent consumption now!
Emmanuel Dahan's and Laura Kräh's project adresses the connection to the origin and seasonality of fruits and vegetables we eat: Current production and consumption have a major impact on the global climate and on agriculture in producing countries. What if we knew the environmental and climate impact and the seasonality of the food available in supermarkets before buying it? We believe it would allow everybody to make more conscious choices and reduce the carbon footprint of the fruit and vegetable selection in supermarkets. That's why we advocate for a transparent information system on fruits and vegetables through CO2-labeling and want to inform consumers as well as address supermarkets and governments through our petition.

Promoting citizen preparedness for climate-related disaster management
The educational and awareness-raising project by Ana Trapaidze and Gvantsa Zarandia is dedicated to promoting and raising awareness about citizen responder initiatives, with a primary focus on sensitizing and engaging society, donors, and related organizations to support and invest in citizen responder prototype initiatives. Through educational social media campaigns, outreach programs, and collaborative efforts, the project aims to inform society about the critical role of citizen responders in climate-related disaster management and enhancing community resilience, ultimately paving the way for the development and growth of citizen responder prototypes. This initiative is a vital step towards building a more resilient and proactive response network for climate-related disasters. Thus, our advocacy campaign aims to mobilize collective action and drive positive change in climate adaptation and disaster response.
